Crestwood Home & Hearth is a recently established, family-owned, local small business with its core values centered on customer service and safety. Our primary service is chimney sweeps by a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep. The CSIA is responsible for certifying sweeps and ensuring Sweeps are up to date on the latest standards and codes. They are a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors dedicated to the education, training, and certification of chimney and industry-related professionals.
More information on the CSIA is available at There are only three people in the Louisville Metro area and surrounding counties holding certifications from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) and the National Fireplace Institute (NFI). The owner of Crestwood Home & Hearth, David Creason, is one of those three. He has a passion for the hearth industry, and his customers, and seeks to provide top-notch service at fair and reasonable prices. He is always glad to share his knowledge and do what he can to help.
"There are many things I enjoy about this industry. But I especially enjoy getting to work with people. My main goal is knowing I've helped a customer by providing quality service and reduced the risk of a chimney fire. The technical side of the industry is particularly appealing. There are many factors people may not know or take into consideration to ensure a chimney or venting system is working correctly. I enjoy getting into those technical details and continually learning new things through hands-on training and certification. It's also hard to beat the views from a chimney or rooftop. You get a new perspective on what's below and may see something you would never notice from the ground," said David.
Crestwood Home & Hearth also provides in-home fireplace sales, service, repairs, and installation. When you're putting a box of fire in your home, don't take any chances with fly-by-night sweeps and installers or those falsely claiming to be certified. It doesn't matter if they've been in the business for a year or 20, if they're not certified, they're not taking it seriously.
Proper care and maintenance of your chimneys, woodstoves, and fireplaces can help protect you from unnecessary fires and carbon monoxide poisonings. As Fall nears, more people will be looking to get their chimneys cleaned and ready for the season. Schedule your service now, so you're not waiting to make sure you can use your fireplace. We hope you'll choose us for your home and hearth needs. However, if you decide not to, for the safety of your family, please visit web.csia.org/search and find a certified sweep or to find an accredited installer.
The chimney industry is continually evolving, and CSIA certified sweeps and NFI Specialists are required to attain continuing education credits or re-certify every three years. Certified Sweeps also agree to follow a strict code of ethics, available on the CSIA website.
Crestwood Home and Hearth will also clean dryer vents which are a commonly overlooked venting system and potential fire hazard. If you're looking to brighten up your hearth and your home, they are a 5-Star Installer for Velux Sun Tunnels.
